New Video Tomorrow -- help us choose the right title/thumbnail
Added 2021-08-31 12:56:17 +0000 UTCHello wonderful Patreon supporters, this is Petr who works on the videos with Derek. Derek went to sleep an hour or two ago (at 4:00 am his time...) but I live in Sydney so I'm finishing some things up for tomorrow's upload.
First off, thank you so much for the people who watched the draft of tomorrow's video and have given their feedback. We've taken it on board and the video is better for it.
I am asking for your help again with the title/thumbnail selection -- you know the drill by now. Hundreds and hundreds of hours go into these videos and we want lots of people to see them, so we need to get the title and thumbnail right.
Please fill out this google form to vote for which is your favourite thumbnail (mountain or balloon), and which is your favourite title (mess up or chaos).
If you have any other ideas or suggestions of the right way to package this video, please comment!
Thanks,
Petr

Have you watched his videos on the YouTube algorithms and why clickbait is necessary? It does change your perspective some, although I tend to agree in the dislike of it.

2021-09-06 03:19:19 +0000 UTCI would never have clicked on these titles & thumbnails. I watch your videos because I subscribed before you turned your title & thumbnail style into clickbating, and while the content is still good enough to stay subscribed, I wouldn't subscribe now. I hate titles that hide the subject of the video, and even the current title & thumbnail (completely unrelated to these) sounds like hyping up nothing. By giving your content the same sort of cover designed for worthless content, if I saw it that way first I would assume that your content was also the same sort of worthless content. I get that you're trying to reach a wider audience, and probably some of the changes have been good, but you've past the point where people who apply a halfway decent bullshit filter to what they click on will skip it - or, worse, you're encouraging one of the bad ways people engage with content online, rather than striking a balance between catchiness and communication.
