We've been working hard on this next video.

I'd love to get your input in case I've made any mistakes. I would also appreciate input on titles and thumbnails as this one doesn't fit nicely into a box.
NB: in this draft there are some errors in the animations that will be fixed.

I have a question: after watching the "Bit-Flip" video for the 2nd time, it occurred to me that, 53 years ago, as I was watching TV coverage of Apollo 11 landing on the moon as an Airman in the USAF, could the infamous "1201" alarm, followed by several other errors that hinted that the memory of that ancient computer (now, not then) was getting overloaded actually have been caused by the subject of this video, rather than the over-tasking of the on-board computer? In other words, Mission Control made the right call, but for the wrong reason. The mention of an increase of cosmic rays with an increase of altitude prompted this brain-burp in this old guy.

2022-04-28 14:39:23 +0000 UTCIt would be worth mentioning, that nowadays the transistors in CPUs and the storage cells in flash and RAM chips are so small, that bitflips can happen not only because of cosmic radiation, but also because of the tunnel effect! There is even an exploit, that attacks this behavior in RAM chips to intentionally flip bits, which can be useful for circumventing security sandboxes for example.
