Wanna try something different?

I'm a big fan of experimentation. It's probably the reason why some of my videos look very different from others and why sometimes they don't work out as I'd hoped. But as Einstein put it: 'A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new.'
So in that spirit I want to invite you to try something new: an app called HiHo, where we can share short videos back and forth. The idea is to foster discussions and interaction - think of it as reddit meets tiktok(?)

Could be a fun idea, but wary of the onerous terms of service. Maybe it’s table stakes these days with social media sites, but I wonder how many people signing up realize that they’re granting “perpetual, sublicensable, transferable, ... royalty-free, worldwide license” to do anything with your user content AND “use the name, likeness, photos, videos, biographical information, signature...” AND “authorize others to use and exploit your User Content in any manner or medium whatsoever” Imagine if Derek hosts some cool threads on HiHo. They could then sell the rights to make a show based on that content, even using his likeness and brand. Or worse. Seems crazy, right?
