Can you swim in shade balls? And how to get one.

My goal is to send a signed (and hopefully numbered) shade ball to every Patreon supporter, at every tier, everywhere in the world. I currently have 9508 patrons, but only 7833 addresses. This is likely because some supporters haven't entered their addresses yet but also because some supporters do not want a shade ball. THAT MEANS BALLS WILL STILL BE AVAILABLE AFTER WE REACH 10,000 PATRONS.

HOW DO I GET MY SHADE BALL?

If you DO want a shade ball, be sure you are supporting Veritasium at any tier and your address is shown correctly here: https://www.patreon.com/pledges

WHEN WILL I GET MY SHADE BALL?

I will wait until payments are processed at the end of this month and then begin sending out to all accounts that cleared. This likely means mail-outs will happen in the second week of July. I have been in touch with a logistics company to help me handle all the shipping and we think this is best done around Vidcon.

There is a chance that some destinations may prohibit mailing of liquid. In that case, we may drill the balls and empty the water.

WHO PAYS FOR SHIPPING?

I do. If you want to contribute, then choose a higher pledge amount for this month. You can always reduce it in July (or even stop contributing entirely). My hope is that many of you will stick around for the long-term but I understand than some of you may not be able to and that's ok.

WHAT IF YOU RUN OUT OF SHADE BALLS?

I will let you know if/when that happens. I think it's fair to prioritize pre-existing supporters and those at higher tiers ($3 should be enough to guarantee a ball but I think I'll likely send to many $1 supporters too). I'd like to get your thoughts on this too. I could try to buy more from the factory, or send postcards?

Finally, thank you so much for your support. I had a lot of fun doing this and although it will be a lot of work, I look forward to signing and sending you all a shade ball as a small token of my appreciation.
