Spiralled away

“Hey, babe, come look at this new toy I bought!” Your partner reached into the box they had just opened, and held up a spiral, mounted on a handle. They looked at you, a wicked twinkle in their eye. “You got anything you need to do right now?”
You shook your head. “Nope, my next meeting’s in fifteen minutes.”
A smile danced across their lips as they pressed a button on the handle, and the spiral began to spin. “Then I’ll be quick, puppet. And this toy will make you sink even quicker than usual.” They thrust it forwards.
You took a step back, mind feeling overwhelmed. “That’s it, sweetie. It’s powerful, isn’t it? Tugging at your thoughts whilst pushing on your body.” They stepped forwards, and you found yourself taking another step back, then another, then your foot collided with something.
“Round and round and round it goes, puppet. Spinning and spiralling your thoughts away.” They took another step forwards, and you gently fell onto the armchair behind you. You couldn’t look away. Couldn’t think. There was just the spiral. Getting closer, and closer.
“Oh, you look so good right now. Does it feel nice, having your thoughts spiralled away?” You nodded your head. The spiral was coming closer as they came closer. You felt your body stuck to the chair. Your mind felt like it was being blended.
“And as the spiral stops, you can come back up for me.” As suddenly as it had started, it stopped. The spiral slowed, then came to a stand-still. Your partner laughed. “I saw you stumble and I had to take advantage of it. Right, enjoy your meeting, my love.”
