March 2021 Update

Greetings Adventurers!

I can't believe it's March already.

The first half of February focused on the following:

* Extras can now be imported alongside your character. (e.g. pets, sidekicks, wildshapes, beast companions).
* Can use snippet rather than full text for actions on import.
* A number of fixes around Option Class Features
* A lot more icons for Racial Traits & Class Features (Thanks @Zac!)
* Source filtering now works for Spells and Items
* A number of small bug fixes
* Updating character/token name is now optional - thanks @Naito!

Last month I put a poll out about where to focus my development efforts, and you overwhelmingly voted for starting on Active Effect generation. I've been working hard on this and an alpha build is now available to God Tier supporters. I hope to be pushing this to general release within the next week or two.

So what's it going to do?

* Where it can automatically generate effects on equipment that is imported either via the muncher or character.
* Will try to apply appropriate active effects on these items to your character.
* Generate AC effects for Items (and possible class/racial features as well).

The number of effects currently supported is quite large:

* Armoured AC bonuses
* Unarmoured AC and bonuses
* Saving throw bonuses
* Ability Check bonuses and advantage on saves and checks
* Skill check bonuses and advantage on saves and checks
* Ability bonuses
* Proficiency bonuses
* Ability score over-rides (e.g. belt of x strength)
* Spell attack and DC bonuses
* Damage Resistance, Immunity and Vulnerabilities
* Condition immunities
* Languages
* Senses base and bonuses
* Speed adjustments
* Proficiencies
* HP per level
* Skill bonuses
* Advantage on skill checks
* Advantage on initiative
* Advantage on saves vs magical attacks
* AC base effects on armor items

This feature is of course optional, it will require the DAE module, and for some effects MidiQOL.

What went wrong?

* DDB updated some monster formatting that broke the parser for a few hours - if your having trouble parsing monster make sure you're on the latest version.

What's coming this month?

* As I have been working on Active Effects a number of bugs have been raised, and they need to be squished
* Moar Effect parsing
* Spending some time looking at the feasibility of scene parsing - no promises - I have some ideas about how this might be achieved. I'm going to set some time aside to see how possible it's going to be. This is initially around getting scenes/maps in, not the adventure text/content.

I'll be updating the key posts with the new keys towards the end of this week, and the January keys will become inactive.
