Trying my hand at cyberpunk. This is a non-con piece. Also some medical stuff.

“You know, it’s a good thing you came to me. Some people give you shit neuromods for inflated prices, but I know that I offer the best service in town, so I don’t need to do that. I’m worth every penny, right?” The doc said. You smiled, and muttered an affirmative.

They flashed a grin back, and took your money, before waving you goodbye.

A week later, and you could swear that something was wrong – every time you tried to put it together though, your mind failed to grasp at it. But you had been having dreams about that Doc.

Vivid, consistent dreams. Of them working on you, adding more to you. Flesh converted to chrome. A willing and obedient drone. So you had decided to go back. As you opened the door, they smiled at you, and you found yourself momentarily dazed. Their smile was gorgeous.

“Hey hon, something wrong with the memory sync?” They sounded concerned.

You cast around, unsure how to put it. “I think it might be affecting my dreams? Like, I keep dreaming of you.”

They laughed at that. “Now are you sure that’s not just your own mind workin’?”

You shook your head. “No, no, I’ve never dreamt this much before. Well, this consistently. I’m still under warranty, aren’t I? Can you just have a look at it?”

They smiled, and cast an eye around the empty surgery. “Well, I suppose I’m free. Hop in the chair, I’ll be right with you.”

As you sat in the chair, they started humming, gathering up what they needed. You felt them connect to your neuralink, activating the pain dampeners, and got to work. As your unmoving, helpless body was in the chair, they laughed again. “I told the truth, y’know?”

You felt a numb sensation scraping against your skull. They were working inside. “I offer the best service in town. No one else gives out free mods. Admittedly. That’s just good business sense. My own chip. 0B535510N. Makes sure they keep coming back.”

You felt something pressing on your brain. “There we go. I hadn’t seated it properly last time. So the linking was working, but the obedience routines weren’t having the right effect. Now though? Oh well now that should link up in the next few minutes. Hello, new drone.”
