You clicked submit, to give the information the webpage had requested. The download began. It finished quickly. And then a window opened on your screen. It was a video. There was soft music, gorgeous lights shimmered and shifted on the screen. Grabbing your attention.
A part of you knew that you should click away, or close the computer. This wasn’t what you had expected. But the voices behind the music were making it so hard to focus on silly things like your own thoughts. It was so much easier to sit, and stare.
A new window appeared. A single word on it. “Submit.” You clicked. You submitted. Again. You clicked again. Surrendering more and more. You kept on going. You had started this. There was no going back now. And honestly, even if you could resist, you wouldn’t want to.
