The pre-scene negotiation was going well, your new hypnotist knew about your triggers, they knew your preferences, your likes, your dislikes. They came back from getting you each a drink, and sat, taking a look over the form you had filled in before arriving.
“Okay, I think I’m ready, if you are. To go over what I’m about to do: I’m going to bring you down, install my own drop trigger, fractionate you for a while, play with that trigger. Then I’ll make you feel some positive feelings, and then bring you up. Is that okay?” they asked.
Something must have shown on your face. You said “Yes.” But their brow furrowed slightly. They leant forwards.
“Is something wrong?” They asked.
“I just – Is that all?” You felt stupid asking the question. You were sure they were going to be offended.
They smiled. “For today, yes. It’s important not to rush this. What if you don’t respond well to my style? What if you decide, after today, that you don’t want to continue this?” They leant back. “No, today is just to give you a taste, and a feel, for how I work, okay?”
You nodded. “Yeah, yeah, that makes sense.” You said.
They reached for a pocket watch on the table. “Right, well, are you ready?”
It was your turn to smile. “I’ve been ready for this for a very long time.” And as you said that, the pocket watch began to swing.
