From the deep

CN: Tentacles
* * *
The wall of the cave illuminated. A pattern of shimmering colour that seemed to be pulling at your attention. Even with the cold sea air howling past you, you couldn’t bring yourself to move away from this beautiful pattern.
The pattern that shimmered, rippling in concentric circles of colour, always moving inwards, towards the centre. You took a step forwards. And then another. You – you couldn’t say why. You couldn’t say much of anything right now. You could barely think.
You couldn’t say why, but you just had to keep looking, keep staring. The pattern was fascinating. It looked like the reflective liquid on the cave wall was moving, detaching itself. And all the time, the colours rippled. It felt like the pattern was massaging your brain.
By now, the circles had become disjointed. Now there seemed to be a star on the wall, with so many arms. A star that was shining before your eyes, blinding your mind. Making it so hard to think. And now the centre of the star was taking a shape.
A great sphere came away from the wall. It hovered in the air, still shimmering. Any part of you that might have thought of running wasn’t in control. All you wanted to do was stand and stare at the colours as they rippled across your hazy, foggy, mind.
And now the arms of the star were moving. Encircling you, in a vortex of colours. You felt yourself bathed in light for just a moment, and then the arms were taking hold of you. Two latched on to your temples. You felt something happening, like your mind was being melted.
Another covered your mouth, forcing its way in. You felt a sense of… Amusement, flash through your mind. This thing was going to play with you. Use you. And, as you felt your mouth forced wider and wider, as the tentacle slid down your throat, you didn’t seem to mind that.
