“Don’t stare too long”. That was what they had told you as the spiral had appeared on the screen. And you wouldn’t. Just a minute. Staring at the spiral. Relaxing into the waves of colour. Making you feel so comfortable. Another minute wouldn’t hurt. Would it?
How could it? It felt so good to just relax and give in to the wonderful tranquillity that came from watching the spiral. It felt so good to let it consume your mind. You didn’t hear them come back. But you were aware of their voice, joining the tone from the speakers.
Filling your ears. Filling your mind. How long had it been? Too long. You had stared too long at their spiral. And now you would get to learn why they had said not to stare too long. As their voice wrapped around and around your mind, you finally slipped under.
