“Can you hear the ticking of your clock?” Suddenly you were aware of it. That relentless ticking, time marching forwards. “Focus on it. Let it hold your attention.” And like that, it was all you could focus on. Each tick interrupting your thoughts.

Nothing more. Their voice is just floating around you. Their words don’t matter. Just the endless, ceaseless ticking. Taking you down. Down into obedience. Down into mindlessness. Down into submission. Nothing but the ticking, echoing in your mind.
