Snapped away

* * *
“There’s something so incredible, about someone snapping you into trance. Or during trance. A sound that can pierce your very soul, make you pay attention and drift off all at once. A signal to go under, or to pay attention. And it feels so good to submit. Doesn’t it?”
Finally, your hypnotist snapped their fingers, and your mind dropped. You body, already sort of relaxed, went limp. Like the snap was actually a pair of scissors, cutting strings that held you up. You were gone, drifting, away, away down into trance.
And that was when the second snap came. And they told you to sleep, and you couldn’t help but go deeper. Mind scattering, body, somehow even more relaxed.
And another snap. And another. Each snap taking you deeper. Thoughts scattering more. It no longer mattered what they were saying.
Only that they kept on snapping your mind and will away.
Only that you kept on going deeper.
Sinking with each snap.
More relaxed with each click of their fingers.
Deeper. And deeper.
Until. Finally, you didn’t know how long it had been, you were back up.
Watching their hand, ready to snap. And you could hear the sound, but their hand hadn’t moved. You were already dropping, and they hadn’t done anything. Conditioned to go into trance, without them needing to snap their fingers.
