I'm trying SO HARD to not overcook my vegetables, and the only thing that helps is beautiful women.

I'm not entirely happy with my style. I know something needs to change, but I haven't figured out the how. Lately I've been experimenting more with adding hatching to my line work and shading with a little more texture.

When I was a wee art child, back in ye olde 2010, I had a terrifying German art teacher who said my art had the texture of over boiled vegetables and that my paintings looked like mashed potatoes. He was right, but damn. Those words are seared into my brain. So here I am, trying to not over cook my veggies (by drawing beautiful women).

All of these are shaded with a different technique.

The green fairy (picture no.1) is watercolor.

The tea fairy (no.2) is oil pastels. The pink fairy (no.3) is the same pack of pastels but make it hella detailed layered.

The purple mage (no.4) is in my typical style. It's the soft airbrush: the ex I just can't quite seem to leave even though he's a dick that over boils my vegetables and all my friends have told me to block his number, yet I still call him when I'm horny despite everyone knowing it's a bad idea.

Pansy (no.5) is a lil treat from the vault of 2020. This was my first DTIYS a few months into starting digital art. She's just here because it's fun to see how far I've come. My style has changed so much that she has no brushes in common with any of the fairies.

Fun fact (for those that read this far)! The green fairy is a drawing of a woman I met last weekend. Ohmyfuckinggod I've never seen a more traditionally beautiful person in real life. It was actually surreal. This drawing was 110% just me trying to flirt with her. Turns out she has a girlfriend, but the move is still a strong one and made her very happy. 10/10 recommend.

I may have also been flirting with the model for the tea fairy (Lianne at fantasyspritestudio)...But, lest I tarnish my virginal reputation, I was very much not flirting with the pink fairy (She's my adoptive sister and that might make family holidays weird...)
