He Gets Us [church pies]: What’s New @ the Table

We’re officially in finale season folks! Are your palms sweating yet? Mine are. It’s going great, though. Newsletter time!

What if everything’s just, like, spookier? The first part of the PALISADE finale came out last week on all the usual platforms (check out the notes here!) As longtime fans know we typically use a different game for the finale than what’s used for the body of the season. This time we’re using Questlandia 2e by Hannah Shaffer and Evan Rowland, which you can pick up on itch.io if you’re interested in bringing it to your own table. (If you like the system but want to try it in a slightly different flavor there’s also its sister game, Noirlandia, which we played in Bluff City season 1’s No Greater Love arc.)

The most important track drop of the past 7 days – but don’t look that up. If you want to snag the new song from PALISADE 46, “See All of This”, it’s available on Jack’s Bandcamp. Pay what you want, or browse the catalog for everything they’ve composed and performed for us over the years. We’re so spoiled. (◡‿◡✿)

But wait, there’s more. There’s a new episode of Gathering Information, our behind-the-scenes interview series for $15+ patrons hosted by Ali. This time she’s talking to Jack about the process of composing two songs from earlier this season. No finale tidbits here, but a good discussion nevertheless.

New York Pickle Department. There’s a new Clapcast for paid members at any tier. If you have low tolerance for talk of weird muscles and freaky anime dudes you might want to skip the Baki the Grappler talk towards the end, that guy is nasty.

Extract the purest memories beneath your consciousness. A new episode of Media Club Plus covering episodes 55-58 of Hunter x Hunter is out, as well as the accompanying screencap post on our Patreon. I used to have very strong feelings of repulsion towards Hisoka but honestly I’m living with post-Baki consciousness now. Maybe the clown’s not so bad?

VIDEO UPDATE RAPID-FIRE!

Bonus! It’s zine season, too! A Chaotic Cataloging: A Seasons of Hieron Zine is now open for submissions. Full disclosure: this zine is unofficial and not run by us, but we all agreed it was worth shouting out to make sure that everyone who wants to submit something has the chance. One of the coolest things about this community is the wide array of ways people find to express themselves and the stories that have spoken to them, so it’s always cool to see projects like this take shape. Chaotic Cataloging is open to everything from visual art to writing, cosplay to crafts, even homebrew TTRPGs. Applications close on June 1st 11:59 PM EST!
