Worldbuilding Drop - The Five Houses

The Five Houses stand both as pillars of Verdant's society and as members of the Queens Council, keeping her informed of the country and its doings. Their function is to ensure that the nation continues running smoothly, allowing for their way of life to progress in much the same way it has for centuries now. They answer to the Queen alone, as only the Queen may appoint or discharge a Head of the House. Each Head of the House is set above all others due to their exceptional skill, as well as their Citizen status.
