...fuck...tumblr
Added 2018-12-03 17:36:29 +0000 UTCIf you haven't heard, tumblr will be forbidding any adult content from it's website on December 17th.
From one stand point, they are still allowing “written content such as erotica, nudity related to political or newsworthy speech, and nudity found in art, such as sculptures and illustrations” which in theory still includes things from the #content creators of this website.
HOWEVER, they also include “illustrations that depict sex acts” under what constitutes adult content! That is really going to cut into the ability of artists and illustrators to promote themselves effectively through this website!
I wonder if the staff realizes the damage it’s doing to itself by eradicating all this content with such a broad stroke? If they took the time to look at previous websites after similar purges, they would see how quickly those places are abandoned when the creators and fans move on to somewhere else. Tumblr might be the most easily accessible platform, but it’s not the only one.
I’ve heard a lot of buzz about pillowfort.io and I intend to start something up once it’s back on-line. If anyone else has any other suggestions, I’m willing to entertain other options. In the meantime, please take this opportunity to follow me through other platforms! I do have a DISCORD SERVER available, so just get ahold of me for the code to drop on by. Must be 18+ in order to join!

I am beyond pissed and disgusted with tumblr for this totally dick censorship move which i hope cause people to abandon the app in droves. I must send them a piece of my mind immediately. They were already on my shitlist for deleting so many Starker sites without caring whether they even wrote about Peter Parker under age 18 or not and still I just don't believe in censorship, warn about content and let people choose what they want to expose themselves to or not, that is what freedom of the press should cause you to end up with.

2018-12-04 03:20:27 +0000 UTCUgh, this is only the beginning it seems. No matter how much Tumblr thinks it's going to help the ramifications of their actions thus far have proven to be more harmful than helpful. And at this rate, it'll only increase their current status as an "accessible app to all" as mere lip service. For many it will harm their credibility and not help them get noticed by a potential audience. This is erasure, plain and simple.
