Drabbles: Stucky

The sunsets in Wakanda were spectacular. The now familiar skyline spread out in the valley tot he very edge of human eyesight. As the colors spread out overhead, the light dappling of clouds creating a pattern above them, one could look behind and witness a sea of stars and inky blackness forthcoming, spreading it's blanket over this protected country.

“Not a bad place to heal, eh?”

Steve wrapped an arm around Bucky's waist and tucked him in close, lingering in the scent of his hair, the warmth of his body. “Not bad at all. Speaking of which...”

“The doctors here are amazing.” The former assassin grinned. “Every night I sleep a little better. Sometimes I don't dream at all. Little things are starting to come back to me. And they're trying to... okay well they had some fancy technical term for it but they're trying to numb my reaction to the words. Hell. Maybe one day I'll be able to hear them without spazing out.”

“That'd be nice. Not that I'm in any rush to leave.” He brushed Bucky's hair back and kissed his brow, his friend looking up at him with a keen expression. “Kinda feels nice to go somewhere where most people don't know your name.”

“Oh yeah. Famous Captain America. Can't go anywhere without being mobbed...”

“Or shot at. Or threatened.” Steve shoved him and got another shove back. Even with one arm, Bucky was still enhanced with the serum, which meant when he shoved, Steve got the actual joy of feeling it in his muscles. “I never wanted to be famous, Buck. I just wanted to do some good in the world. And look where it got us.”

“You did a lot of good. Hydra is all but eradicated. Last I heard the newly formed SHIELD is taking out the last vestiges and factions. That never would have happened without you.” Bucky mentioned off offhandedly. “And ya know, rescuing brainwashed super soldiers is kind of a notch in the belt isn't it?”

“Yeah. Though they could be a little more grateful now and again.”

“Give a guy a break. Not a lot of time for fun stuff when you're afraid you might pop off at any second.” Bucky leaned in closer though and touched their noses together, inviting a deeper, more intimate notion. Steve took it and pressed a gentle kiss to his mouth, their lips cupping into one another softly. “Hmmm. I like that Captain Rogers.”

“First off you know the Captain is honorary. Second off, I'm retired. Third off...”

“Third off, it suits you. And I'm gonna use it cause it gets me off.” He winked and pursued the next kiss, rubbing a hand over Steve's pectorals and letting themselves cuddle in closer. The kisses deepened and Steve's arms wrapped around him, bringing Bucky closer to his body. “Steve...”

“Buck...we should...uhm...”

The evening began to turn to light, and the stars shone overhead, uninterrupted by the soft glow of the city lights below. Wakanda had laws regarding conservation of the natural beauty of their landscape, and no one wanted an obstructed view of the night sky.

Which also meant other things resulted in an unobstructed view, which amused Bucky to no end. Wakandan's weren't exactly prudish when it came to matters of romance and love, and they certainly didn't hold any condemning views in regards to same sex relationships. Steve on the other hand got embarrassed the second he even though someone saw them holding hands. As far as he was concerned, that was the sort of stuff that happened behind closed doors. Bucky felt he'd spent too long behind closed doors and was good and ready to feel skin pressed against him.

Steve pulled him back inside behind the curtains, kissing up and down the man's neck, grabbing his hips and swaying their bodies up against one another. “Bucky. Bucky we got time. You wanna...uh...”

“I wanna do a lot of things, Captain Rogers.” He moaned and pressed his head along Steve's throat.

“If you don't stop calling me...”

“Steve.” Bucky amended. “Steve. Come on. Don't make me wait.”

“You gonna be nice?” He warned, but those eyes shone bright and full of wickedness. He wanted this too. How could he not. They had both spent far too long without the attention of another. Was it so wrong to need this? To feel that close connection to the only other person who really understood what you were going through? Steve pulled Bucky to the bed, letting themselves fall together into the sheets. There was so much lost time here. So many things he wished they'd have taken advantage of before all the ruination happened. They'd known. All those years ago they had both known they shared an affection that wasn't exactly allowed in that time. So they'd avoided it. Bucky had gotten him dates that inevitably hadn't worked out. They'd gone to dance halls with girls and kept one another close, but never too close.

There had been a kiss once, which Steve had initiated, when they'd gotten drunk on some home brewed hooch their upstairs neighbor had given them. They'd laughed and talked and Steve had kissed Bucky. Bucky had held on tight and kissed him back and for a few precious minutes there had been a frantic pulling of clothing that meant this was not unwelcome on either side. Bucky had come to his senses first, stopped himself and proclaimed it was the fault of the alcohol.

Now, they were both stone sober. This was a different era, and they had spent too long apart to pretend they didn't want these things anymore.

“Steve...” Bucky whispered. “Do what you did to me last night huh? Do something to give me good dreams when I'm back in that pod.”

Steve groaned as his mouth encircled a dark nipple, tugging at the hardened nub of flesh with his lips and rewarded with Bucky's sharp whine. “Sure thing Buck...”

“Oh Captain Rogers!”

“I will fucking murder you.”
