Crowd Design the Christmas Poster

Dear Insane Children,

We're back home safe and sound. Baby and mom are happy and healthy. Thank you, everyone for your kind wishes and love.

Taking a quick break from cleaning the house and  learning how to "dad" to bring you a quick update. Thought you might enjoy a bit of Crowd Design while I am away.

Crowd Design: Christmas Poster

Our art team continues work on various aspects of Asylum. Omri sent over the Christmas Poster concept image (posted above). I've sent him the following feedback:

Looks great to me. A couple of things...
First, the font is off, but you probably know that. That looks very 50's.
Second, it needs more alchemy or strange symbols.
December is Sagittarius is Saturn (Dec 13th is my birthday, btw, maybe a "13" in there for that?)

Check out Father Christmas: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Father_Christmas
And let's think about the Winter Solstice: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winter_solstice

Winter Solstice is the origin of the Christmas celebration date. Maybe include some indication in the image of the astrological alignment of the solstice?

In terms of story and psychology... you could imagine the solstice as being Alice's furthest point from sanity (happiness, warmth, etc).
So it might make sense to put a subtle hint to her in a straight jacket or otherwise hint at the Asylum and its trappings?

I'll let you take it from here.

And from there... I'll let YOU join in the conversation and send him some design feedback. Leave your thoughts and suggestions in the comments below. Remember to keep it positive and constructive!

Omri will check out your ideas and work them into the final image wherever it makes sense. Woo!

I love the artwork.

The plushes are weird on this one. They need more fire.

Maybe the edges of the family photo could be seared/burned from the fire...

I feel like the family photo in the background should be cracking. As if it were behind some ice starting to break.

Mad Hatter should be stuffed too, keep the theme of the picture going. Take Alice out of that awful outfit. Dark Christmas, Alice's life is in danger and she's the only one who can save it. That's all of us 🐱

Nope, nope, nope. I really hate this Alice. I know it is supposed to be a dated version. But still, I would never even want this. I like the Alice from the Dark wonderland, from Perfectly unbalanced and the latest where she is holding cheshire cat. I know that doesn't fit the time frame, but couldn't it be adjusted just a little bit? To me this is just awful, this is the Alice I hate!

December birthdays rock! And it looks like they worked a 13 into the time piece the Rabbit is holding.

There's several things to consider given the time of the game. It's the 1870s-1860s for time frame, so... ~Christmas trees were only really just starting to sit on floors, they had mostly been set on small tables. ~Decorations have kept fairly true over the years, but one might also consider that trees were not at the time bred to be the dense floofy things they are today; limbs were probably a bit more spread out. ~Red was not a common color for the holiday. Even for the classic garbs of Father Christmas, that I recall, typically it was greens, browns, and blues. On searching, it seems like just a nice dress, was more common than not for females to be wearing around that time.

Should be the size of her actual head. Not the size of the head & hair

Other than the feed back you gave already, the only thing that bugs me is the Santa hat. Looks too large. I realize she has hair. But anyone with thick hair can tell you that the hat won't look like on a head. It'll be tighter fitting with the hair "overflowing" out from around.

I'm wondering if maybe the Hatter should be taller? Kinda of like Norms arts where he is tall but not mechanized? Maybe he could where a red coat?

I like the overall look. I feel like she’s showing off a lot of leg compared to what we’ve seen before, but it may be because I’m used to seeing her wear stockings. Maybe lengthen the dress or add some candy cane looking stockings?

Omg if I weren’t already getting two new Alice dresses for the convention around Christmas, I would have this made immediately. I’ll still have it made lol! These are a few of my favorite things: Alice, Christmas, and dresses!!

So down with a 13 in there somewhere. My little girls birthday is December 13 so that would be really cool

I feel like there's a lot of negative space down by her legs, maybe focus in putting the strange symbols in that area??

I love that she's holding the keyring. I think that the keys should stay somewhere on the print. I like the atmosphere of this art piece so far; it reminds me of shock. My biggest concern and the first thing I noticed is the font of the bottom text and how it intersects with the Alice logo, though I'm sure that was uninententional.
