Slumber Before the Fire

It is the nature of Chaos to arrive when we least expect it. Order and calm are the natural origin of Chaos. And Chaos is the precursor to order. Like sleep turns to waking and waking to sleep. Somewhere in the divide is Slumber - that space where time passes without awareness, without concern.
We drive to work without being aware of the actions we perform or the route we take. Until one day there's an instantaneous explosion of glass and steel. Our world is turned upside down but we're hardly aware of how we got to this place. Where did THAT come from? And then we struggle to put the pieces together again, until once again... we slumber.
The Slumber
One aspect of Alice's story we've never really explored is her life before the asylum, before the fire. We've seen brief glimpses and heard the distant screams but never viewed that world as Alice saw it in The Slumber.
With Asylum we have an opportunity to explore and be a part of Alice's world before the Chaos. To see and hear her family in the moments leading up to the explosion of their reality.
That's a world illuminated by this latest illustration from Omri. A snapshot of the space we'll explore, through Alice's eyes, at the start of Asylum.

I like where Slumber is leading. Not so much to explore her family members, more to understand how the Wonderland population relates to Alice prior to the fire. Very interested to realize her hierarchy with the characters in Asylum; and, possibly know their backstory/relationship. REALLY love the understanding of Chaos & Order cycle <3
2019-05-29 02:49:54 +0000 UTCI kind of feel that Slumber is more dedicated to Alice's family than Alice herself since her parents and Lizzy are really an enigma in the later games (as you have stated in the text above), and it is kind of hard to really feel for somebody that you do not at least partially know. But back to Alice...it will be nice to see her in a time before the madness and before she had to fight and struggle in a world that sought only to exploit her. Are there going to be memories in this game? Like maybe Alice remembers things from the moment before her old life crumbled into pieces

This has been my favorite WIP art piece I have seen so far I am so excited to finally meet Alice's it means we will feel like she does when they are gone

2019-05-22 09:31:14 +0000 UTCSUGGESTION: in Slumber, we might be able to get a chance to play through that final day or 2 before the fire- introduce the task list from mother, basic controls, games with sister, mischeif with the nanny or father... And then as we get closer to the fire, the screen starts glitching/images flash in as the memories invade and then all turns to Shock- we never quite see the fire happen, only glimpses and bits until she's standing outside, watching as her world goes White.
