Hoshi, the inn owner, told them it was a case they couldn't solve, that what the inn needed was a priest/priestess, and a strong one at that. They were informed that a ghost had been possessing men, causing them to commit the crimes. It was said the ghost was so powerful that Tomoko, the resident priestess, could only perform enough exorcism to manage each incident as it occurred.
The cops didn’t buy it, especially Aspen, a staunch nonbeliever in ghosts, only for him to become the next victim of possession himself! In the end, the team managed to "solve" the case, but unbeknownst to anyone, the ghost had permanently taken residence within Aspen, giving him a split personality!
