It's less useful when writing in serial format, but I definitely did it when figuring out my first novel. Now, I just take notes on everything as it comes to me. When I wake up in the morning, after a shower, after driving to work, etc. I know if I take notes I can come back to it later, but if I don't, I forget

2025-09-02 20:19:55 +0000 UTCCool interview! How do you use the advice from your second college that it's often good to write scenes out of order and "place" them later, given your serialization schedule? Is that where the note cards come in?
