News: February 2024

Progress on the hair styles for GnB is going well. Some of the images render quite fast while others can take upwards of 30 minutes or more per image. The queue is sorted alphabetical, so it can be kind of random if the renders are going to be quick or not. As such, each new update is going to be fairly random in how much gets added. The next update should include quite a few updated mini-scenes, though.

There's not much else going on with GnB at the moment, so I'll report a bit on DI. That is the acronym for the new name for the Serenity Circle remake. I'll reveal the full name later, but I'll be referring to it as DI from now on.

If you noticed the first progress report post for DI, you may already know that the inventory system is functional. It's not 100% complete, but everything does what it is suppose to. The mentioned post goes into more detail with some very early previews.

Those types of posts will continue to be Patreon only, but you're not missing much if you're not a Patron. Don't go donating just for those posts. Wait for the demo (coming soonTM). That's what I would do anyways. Having said that, thank you to the ones that have continued supporting me despite the lack of "new content updates".

In addition to the inventory, I've been focusing on the combat system recently. It's going very, very well. The first step was to create an ATB system in Renpy/Python. Maybe a VN game engine wasn't the best choice for this, but oh well. It works. Quite well, in fact.

I cobbled together some crude visuals just to test everything. The only "action" button at the moment is the Attack button. I'll be adding skills, items, etc. later. Anyways, the bar will fill, and combat will "pause" while you decide on what you want to do. For now, you can click Attack, select your target, and exactly what you might expect will happen. Enemies will also act when their bar is full. There's no visual representation of that at the moment, though. There's still quite a bit more to do before I'm ready to show off the combat in the next progress report post. Stay tuned!

I'm going to continue the bonus images despite the lower engagement as of late. It gives me a much needed break to still work on something for you guys that is different from the usual monthly grind. Patrons remember to vote on who you would like to see featured in the monthly bonus images!

That's probably more than enough text to tell you, "I'm still working on things despite the lack of flashy new content updates." /novelend

Thank you as always!
