Unfortunately, there's not a whole lot to say in this commentary that wasn't addressed in the previous installment, because all that would really be said would be regarding my thoughts on J'onn's inclusion as a foreign exchange student.
However, I do plant seeds here that get harvested in the Camping Trip arc, which is Hal's fascination with space and his own personal interests at the expense of treating J'onn like a unique, autonomous individual.
One of the guiding lights for Hal in JL8 is his Parallax storyline (before the retcon). I'm fascinated by his canonical descent into becoming a villain because he let his own wants and desires cloud his judgement of what constitutes "good"--that he chose the "good" for him over the "good" of everyone.
I'm not saying Hal will become a villain in JL8. He's a boy. But I like exploring that part of his personality, and this is sort of the beginning of that.
I think that's about all I've got for this one, but thanks for reading! Until next time, take care!
