Another Update re: Health and Other Things

Hello, everyone!

Apologies for the radio silence. Recovering from DragonCon has taken some time, but my energy levels are back up, so I wanted to give you all a little update on how things are going.

First and foremost, my wrist is feeling much better, but I still have until next Wednesday before I go back in for a check-up to see where I stand with this awful brace. Hopefully they give me the all-clear, and I'll be back to drawing by that evening.

I wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who came to see me at DragonCon. It really lifted my spirits, and your support is immensely appreciated. It was great meeting new fans and reconnecting with some who I haven't seen in years. That said, it was brought to my attention that the line into the Vendor/Artist Alley building was up to AN HOUR AND A HALF LONG at points, so I think this weekend I may do a "Free Shipping" sale in an effort to help out anyone who may've wanted to stop by but simply couldn't afford the wait. Obviously, the deal applies to all my fans, but the impetus is those at DragonCon who may've missed out due to how things were organized.

Lastly, I was fairly open about this on Twitter, but this past Tuesday I started going to a therapist for the very first time. Admittedly, this is probably years overdue, and the reality is that much of JL8's unreliability in content production is because I've been battling what I can only imagine is severe depression and anxiety for about five years now. I may go deeper into this another time, but for now I just wanted to say that I'm finally seeking help and hoping to turn to a happier and healthier page in my life, and I'm really excited about it.

I think that about does it for today. As I said, I'll be posting about that sale sometime tomorrow and I'll let it run through the weekend so folks get the chance to take advantage. Thank you again to everyone for being so patient while I work through this seemingly endless string of health issues that have kept me away from the drawing table since JULY. It's really done a number on me mentally and emotionally, but having so many people be so supportive and encouraging has really helped.

Thanks so much, and I hope to talk to you--and have some comics for you--soon!
