Gunwild: A subtly older-style office there, I notice. Although who knows how devices work in the space-future.
Psu: I gave her a CRT for a reason, cause I think anyone doing a proper mystery needs an office with a CRT for looking at old tapes. Okay I don't believe that's exactly true. But I like the contrast between that panel and the next one which shows a totally different level of tech. But it's still essentially a corkboard with strings like that Always Sunny in Philadelphia meme with Charlie. I don't think that was mentioned in the script...
Gunwild: I think I was just going to have her looking at information on one screen or something, but you successfully argued for a digital corkboard of conspiracy. It's more dramatic! Also, years passed between us setting up Wrenn's first appearance and doing more stuff with her, but she was always included with that kinda thing in mind so I think it came off about right.
Psu: That's a very webcomic thing, ain't it? You just have this ONE idea and it's gonna finally get paid off YEARS and YEARS later. I don't think this was a super duper big mystery though. And to be sure, it was more important when Wrenn first appeared at the party wearing the same dress she wore here... which is... a dress she wears to a random ramen shop. Maybe it's more comfy and casual than it looks!
Gunwild: It might be hot out! Or it could be a nice place that happens to serve noodles and show fencing on TV. Again, the space-future is full of possibilities.
Psu: Like the slim possibility that the very thing you were looking for, shows up on broadcast television?
Gunwild: Isn't it more likely some algorithm noticed the family resemblance and assumed the consumer within line of sight of the television would appreciate some targeted programming and ads?
Psu: While I'm pretty suspcious of the algorithim in general, if it was that good at assuming Wrenn would be interested in this other famous Xerran on TV, then maybe she should've used it to help her in her search. I'd be more comfortable with the TV knowing her browser history an extrapolating from that something that might catch her interest than say... if it was just going "Well she's blue and this person's blue, maybe they're related?"
Gunwild: I mean I'm just telling you something I remember reading in the 1992 postcyberpunk classic Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson. And frankly, if it's sci-fi and I read it, imagine it's in Cassiopeia Quinn somewhere, no matter how silly that is.
Psu: I haven't read Snow Crash but if it's anything like Starcrash, then it belongs in Cassiopeia.
Gunwild: You'll love it, there's a magnetic harpoon and pizza from the jump.
Psu: Sweet!
