But this was a relatively text heavy page, and that coupled with the time of day it just happened to work out that I copy the text over first this time.
I normally sketch the page out on my ipad during my work hours. But sometimes I'll do things like prep work before the main work hours on the desktop, where I can use my mouse, multiple monitors, and my keyboard. Certain tasks like adding and correcting text are just much easier then. That's when I transfer the files back to the ipad.
I guess you can think of that stage of art like "mise en place" which is a term that comes from the kitchen world. Before you start "cooking" you should do all the prep work that you can ahead of time. Cut the vegetables and portion out the ingredients, that sort of thing. Before you start drawing a thing, you can really save yourself some trouble by prepping what you can ahead of time. That includes text, page layout, finding references, etc.
