Gunwild: Navy schmavy, I always say.

Psu: This is a really cool scene. I know we talked a long time about this one though, because I think we differed on what Maddy would confront Cassiopeia with. And how she should respond to that. It was a fairly difficult decision in the writing!

Gunwild: That is true. But since it had already been put in place earlier with that Beebot thing, I think there was no way to just let it lie when the opportunity was there.

Psu: It's a heck of an ice breaker to say the least. Or is that more like... an ice wrecking ball and now you've gotta clean everything up? (edited)

Gunwild: Well, I think Cassiopeia was asking her to be frank, in some ways.

Psu: "Give me your honest opinion about me." That's always fun to come at your frenemies with. But yeah, we really did spend some time figuring this one out. I knew I wanted Maddy bringing this up but I think you wanted Cassiopeia to regain some ground in this conversation. I think we both felt Maddy had a legitimate axe to grind but I don't think you wanted Cassiopeia to be left taking it.

Gunwild: I'm not wild about pivotal dramatic conversations where the breaks get slammed so one party can give a whole speech about why the other party sucks, wholly uninterrupted. I feel like there's a big portion of the population who'd be inclined to make some noise about it. Cassiopeia's certainly among them.

Psu: No one really likes being talked at, that's for sure.

Gunwild: Well, that's next-page stuff. In this one all the snacks got ruined...

Psu: I'm just kinda amazed it worked out sometimes. As hard as it is to HAVE these kinds of conversations, it's just as hard to WRITE these conversations. And then you guys ever try to draw someone sitting down with their legs crossed while holding two swords? That's not easy either. I'm just saying it was a minor miracle this comic worked and came out as well as it did cause everyone worked together and put aside their differences.

Gunwild: Oh, I knew we would, we tend to talk things out like adults.

Psu: As long as we can get the point across.

Sword

point.

Metaphor.

It's not polite to point, Maddy.

Gunwild: At least it's illegal to stab.

Peia? In the Navy!?

Aside being at sword point, I did half expect Cass to joke her way out of it but considering a sit down and chat instead is a bigger step in her case.
