Gunwild: Easter? Easter's no Christmas.
Psu: Well, for me... Easter is Easier. I'm kinda trying to make a pun there, but I don't think that's working.
Gunwild: The eggs are pretty though. The sunrise one even feels evocative of a lot of Easter imagery, people are always putting "He Is Risen" over a sunrise or something on their religious Easter cards. And what storage capacity! I wish I got cool shutter shades in an egg hunt.
Psu: These are absolutely prettier than any egg I've ever painted. But you're also right, these eggs are huge! Those Terran Humans sure have giant eggs...
Gunwild: The last panel with Ninoo smiling at his smuggled sO2da is my favorite bit. He deserves to be happy!
Psu: It was his plan, right? He's the one that knows the Earth Traditions and can still find ways to make a secret culture exchange.
Gunwild: Yeah. I'm not saying this was my exact inspiration or anything, but at some point I saw there was a donation event for old thumb drives - we've all got a few that are small and not too useful to us anymore, right? But they were gathering up thousands of them and formatting them for a fresh use. Apparently they're the perfect way to smuggle banned cultural content into North Korea. So y'know, there's an easter egg for ya.
Psu: Yeah, I loved that story. One of America's great exports are its culture and tv shows, so getting people to be able to watch Seinfeld is surprisingly subversive when you can get it to oppressed people. I imagine Nimoo and the aid corps over here are working overtime to make sure the vanaa understands everyone's common "vannanity" through their cultures.
Gunwild: Kwah might not love it, but he's also not about to tattle. I mean, I for instance don't care for Russian ballet, but if I was told I couldn't listen to Tchaikovsky because it might turn me into a communist, I'd probably go out of my way to make sure I could get it and others could get it, if they wanted. Kwah is probably of the same mind.
Psu: You know what I'm just remembering... Was this your idea to make a call back to when Nimoo originally showed the crew his collection of easter eggs from way back in the early comic?
Gunwild: He was showing Kwah a Cadbury Creme Egg in that earlier comic. I mean, a "Bradbury Creme Egg." Slightly different, but yeah Easter is a holiday with already hard-to-explain customs, I feel like that suits it well to wacky reinterpretations by, say, aliens.
Psu: If the egg fits.
