Page Commentary No. 251

Gunwild: We almost skipped this one. I am unreasonably angry that Nizka's War & Peace rant is something I wrote fast to be skimmed over by the audience... and it has an error in it. I feel for Miss Carolina, though, these kids are all different ages and demeanors and she's gotta make them study history with a book? And they're gonna pick it?

Psu: I admit though, it must be nice to have just such a small class with really distinct kids so you can always remember which ones which. Oh now there's a thought. Maybe the next time we flash back to Vraxiopeia, the class has probably grown. The colony used to be small enough where just one class room would be enough to cover all the kids. But now there's even a fast food joint and young hipster parents and everything. They're gonna need at least like... two classrooms.

Psu: ... I'm not drawing two classrooms. That's a lot of kids to design.

Gunwild: Maybe Miss Carolina will have an equally-cute rival teacher, though. That could be fun to draw.

Psu: That almost sounds like an entirely different comic we'd have to spin off to. Then you'd have more excuses to write giant essays for Nizka so she can show she's still the smartest of them all.

Gunwild: No, I don't want people to know my influences for real. That's like knowing the how a great trick is done; you realize the magician's a craftsman, not a wonder-worker. Anyway, if she's so smart, why'd she call him "The Napoleon?"

Psu: Well you just have to write someone that sounds smarter than you and has different influences. Oh fun fact, the way I drew Nizka there is a reference to a "yelling kid" meme I would use for funsies in old doodle chat rooms. I just always liked the visual of just being so overloaded with words that your head is just peeking out of the bottom of the frame. It makes no sense in reality, right. She's not like talking behind a window. But it's fun and cute.

Gunwild: It's classic.

Psu: Also I didn't have to spend energy coming up with a new cute Nizka shirt, instead I'd spend that energy on book covers you can't read. This was another one of those pages where I just needed to recharge. I needed a few of them throughout this comic, that's for sure.

Gunwild: Unfortunately, if I could actually write in a way that sounded like someone  smarter than me, then that's how I'd be writing all the time. Oh, well. Everybody, read books!

Psu: I should read more books. They have horses and middle earths and everything.

Gunwild: Watch out for the dangers hidden inside both.
