Gunwild: Because of my script this is not self-evident, but in Panel 4, Zeke is I think supposed to be confused at the idea that Cassiopeia would 'buy' anything. But it's supposed to be a tiny joke. I'll live.
Psu: This is a pretty sweet page. And not just cause there's a lot of pretty figures in this one. I think we can include Zeke in that too. I dunno if you could actually just buy something that good. Even in the space future.
Gunwild: This isn't a super serious venue to explore the ethics of transhumanism. I could go for a body that somebody spent their career refining. At the moment I spend maybe five or six minutes on mine, most days.
Psu: Mmm... that suspiciously sounds like exercise and taking care of yourself physically. Anyway, this page is pretty. I'm also pretty tired. It's been... kinda a mood for me this past week. But you wanna go over the plot stuff? Like how we got here? With Minx's head on a table?
Gunwild: I don't think I can explain it much beyond what's in the comic... admittedly this story gets a bit convoluted, but I like that none of the main "arcs" (they're really chapters) in this webcomic go without some kind of reveal, you know? I think there are whole comics being published these days that forget to try to surprise the audience.
Psu: Well, I do remember I sorta pitched this story for you. And we got to reuse a lot of things we introduced throughout the years! So I hoped it made us look smart and like we pre-planned this stuff. Instead of like... I just said "wouldn't it be fun if they copied Motor Minx and stuff" while we were hanging out at comic-con.
Gunwild: I think we were actually in line for something! But yeah I feel like as long as you have good options ahead of time, you can make a good, new idea for a story incorporate well with the needs of the plot. That's what I did when Psu said that idea and sounded excited about it.
Psu: And we got to incorporate a LOT. There were things that were definitely not meant to be loose threads but I think like... I dunno. Maybe it's because we kept Cassiopeia Quinn scenarios within a certain theme, that all the different parts we had laying around could be re-used in different situations. Does that make sense? Like we used and built parts meant for one thing, but because we're still building the same sorta thing a lot of those parts can carry over.
Gunwild: If your brain is a junkyard, like mine, you will try to find uses for the parts.
Psu: Maybe that's what Penny does. But all the parts she seems to find come in shapely lady shapes.
Gunwild: So? That's not too different from your output!
Psu: The mind does work in mysterious ways... Like... I think when I was drawing the first panel was when I got the idea to bring back a tiny device from many years ago...
Gunwild: If only we'd set it up properly in the comic instead of having to refer back to it as a surprise later... but we showed it! And that's good stuff. As opposed to telling. Or so I'm told. But not shown?
Psu: We were too focused on shapely cyborg bodies.
