Gunwild: Oh I like this one actually. Even if it does remind me I should learn to do... like, anything for my appearance, which I normally do not do.

Psu: I haven't tidied myself up all day. I've been kinda a lazy bum since Christmas! I haven't fixed my hair at all! Oh wait... this is literally the last time we see neat and tidy young man Kettering, isn't it?

Gunwild: Kinda yeah, but maybe he'll be back a bit now, since he's not as lovesick. Anyway, I also wonder if the implication in panel 4 reads like they're actively helping Kettlehead make his Zoom call in some way. What I actually meant for it to be taken as was that they happen to know, but Maddy is concerned that she hasn't noticed that call getting made. That's why she's glancing at some readout or something, or maybe just taking note of the time. I think that means that there are multiple valid ways to take the scene, so you can go with whatever reads best, audience. It's called narrative ambiguity, and it's what all the best writers do to cover their butts!

Psu: Hrmm, that's pretty much how I read it. But I do remember we discussed this panel quite a bit. I liked Farring going off on some tangent but I think we discussed just how to word it that it's not like... Farring boasting but Farring musing about the past. I think Maddy's look of concern says a lot, and since we know she knows about Kettering's calls, we wouldn't need to repeat it. Besides, this was Kettering's page.

Gunwild: Sorry, Kettlehead! But if it helps, you're half of many fans' favorite plot thread! That makes it all worthwhile, right?

Psu: I dunno... I think if I were Kettering I'd rather be able to talk to someone I was vibing with than be someone's favorite ship. Unless it was the Enterprise... I really like that ship. Did I mention I'm sleepy and maybe not totally coherent, after this Christmas?

Psu: Well... is it indulgent to be like Kettering in the second to last panel. But instead of pining for my missing love, I'm watching YouTube vids by that guy who restores antique electronics?
