Gunwild: "Character something momentous is happening to who doesn't realize its significance" is Psu's favorite.
Psu: It's pretty good! This is kinda a favorite page, though looking at it now there are a couple things I'd want to fix up. That said, this is probably the most closeups we've done in a single Cassiopeia page so far.
Gunwild: Guess we should have me write eleven-panel pages every time!
Psu: No. But anyway, it's been a while since we saw any of these characters. Senechel and Rosalba and Gleb haven't made an appearance in a bit. And then well, there's this mystery character right in the middle...
Gunwild: I can't remember if it was my idea or yours to have Maddy's dad doing the tea spit take like she does. But I really like it.
Psu: I believe that was an ad lib while drawing, not to toot my own horn. Sometimes though, a panel just takes a while to sketch out and you think of something that makes it more entertaining for yourself. Oh just checking, Maddy calls him "dad" and the other one she calls "pops" right?
Gunwild: I think so, though it would be just like me to get them backwards
Psu: Eh it's the same here. I think we avoid that sorta comic book thing where the characters say each others name all the time. I'm sure that's mostly to remind the reader who's talking to who. But it always feels a little unnatural to say. Good thing we decided on not having much dialog at all here.
Gunwild: Only Cassiopeia makes sure she's heard even on an almost entirely silent page.
Psu: So anyway... you wanna discuss the material composition of the blade or should we try and explain that later? I think I can talk about the artistic choices at least. I just thought going from the bluish green to gold would be pretty lookin.
Gunwild: It is! But yeah I should dig up my references for the inspiration on the sword's design, it was pretty unusual.
