2023-07-05 04:12:18 +0000 UTCIf the new hypothesis on the state of the universe was true you wouldn’t need friction to slow down the rate of expansion. Before the theories on dark matter there was a scenario that posed a Big Crunch in which gravity would slow and then stop the expansion of the universe. Once that happened things would start moving in the opposite direction until gravity caused everything to crunch back together in a singularity.
