Gunwild: I still can't believe I searched Clawlossus and didn't get any Google hits for copyrighted characters appearing in mass media franchises. So I felt free to use the name. It seems obvious as a portmanteau... I think that's what you call such a word?
Psu: Don’t ask me, I’m not the writer. This page isn’t quite my favorite in terms of laying out. I think a lot of the elements are tiny and it could be composed better with more interesting panels. But it is doing a LOT of stuff. I had to cover the ship battle in the sky and the bickering on the ground. Those last two panels would ideally have had more page real estate to itself. But I had to spend a lot of that on yelling and big slamming noises. It’s pretty cool though, I feel a little bad for Clawlossus. Thankfully no one really blames Minx for her actions. She didn’t know Clawlossus would be the fan favorite, yet.
Gunwild: When you're doing silly sci-fi, Futurama feels like the big dog. You don't wanna imitate too closely. But Cassiopeia putting a lot of importance on the well-being of her own butt is something she has in common with Bender and we've just gotta deal with it.
Psu: It’s notable that this is the only panel in the comic so far where the word balloon has to hover just over her butt. It was a tough scene to figure out! I think Gunwild had some specific instructions so I had to figure out flipping Cassiopeia over and then how she drops in the last shot. But that was still easier than getting people to understand Minx’s feetless feet.
Gunwild: Have we said it before? That's sort of our philosophy on cyborgs. With mechanically-perfect balance, you don't need as much foot!
Psu: What Minx lacks in footwear, she makes up for in style.
