Gunwild: Nyoom
Psu: Nyooom. Okay two things. One, I think this is one of the prettiest pages in the entire series. They're kinda just visually cool and hearken back to some older comic concepts I've had set in ruined cities. Two, I think we had an explanation why she didn't turn off the limiters before just now. It might've been useful to get away from the bad guys but I forgot the actual reasoning. Was it that her engine would dangerously overheat?
Gunwild: I did a little bit of research on this. Cars for races can take liberties, but there are some really tight rules. Like how NASCAR vehicles have to be V8s with iron blocks, the cylinders can only be bored to such-and-such a size... I figure that you're not allowed to increase the thrust of your speeder beyond a certain amount during the race, for fairness and safety. Although of course it's an illegal race, so I bet everybody is trying to find ways around that.
Psu: I mean, they didn't quite cancel the race when one of the bikers managed to pick up a stowed away rifle. But hey, rules are rules. I'm sure she was disqualified. That didn't mean they didn't stop filming it.
Gunwild: We looked at this chapter printed out, and I had intentionally made it so that in a printed edition, when you turn the page from this, it goes right into the next one, the two-page spread.
Psu: I forgot how to do that offhand. I'll have to look it up again whether or not the page spread has to start on an even or odd numbered page. Don't get excited yet guys, that was a one off and more or less a test to see how a book might look. We haven't figured out books just yet.
Psu: Minor details I'd like to point out, in panel 2 you'll see that she blows past a piece of paper that gets kicked up. It says, "EVAC NOTICE" if you can't read it. I wanted to just reinforce that something happened to this planet a long time ago. And it's something that doesn't matter now.
Gunwild: It's free real estate!
