Gunwild: I remember the first draft of this one had Farring referring to Maddy as "lass." While I do imagine he thinks of her that way because of his dialect and her age, he's probably more aware of the chain o'command than to say it out loud.
Psu: Maddy I imagine wouldn't think too much of reprimanding, or at least she wouldn't remember if that is what he said. But it probably wouldn't make sense to say Lass, because he's trying to speak clearly to Russ about what happened. Anyway, is it just me or is everyone in the Regency taught how to combat roll?
Gunwild: It's like how everyone in the Federation on Star Trek does that preposterous double axe-handle move in a fight. Bonk!
Psu: Have we done the double axe handle? I think we've at least discussed it at one point.
Gunwild: I don't think so, and I tend not to want to include it. The person doing the most fisticuffs in the comic is probably Farring anyway, and he's supposed to be a 19th century adventure hero type. He'd probably prefer old-fashioned manly face punches.
Psu: I probably need to turn up his mustache at some point but we could get accused of copying Coran from Voltron. But more importantly, what was the name of the Vanaa at the top?
Gunwild: If there were ever a time to steal the name of hit character of Elan Sleazebaggano... hmm... I will provisionally call him "Knug."
Psu: Those top panels just have some great characters. I like the guy on the left and the tired looking girl on the right is one of my favorites in the entire comic.
Gunwild: I forgot this, but he's all cloudy because of the starch stick he's enjoying in public (A filthy habit!) and it actually bounces out of his face and hits the poor dealer.
Psu: I keep hearing the "ptoo" sound in my head whenever I see this panel. This whole strip had a lot of opportunities for goofy side gags everywhere in the background. And having those characters was just a lot of fun for a one off moment. But even the advertising is nice on this page. I'm just now remembering the joke with the banners for Elvis and BIG Elvis. And can't forget, Play for Free.
Gunwild: I admit that although sometimes I call for really specific background text stuff, every one of the ones on this page was yours. Which is amazing, because "so2da Classy Edition," which is just the same drink in a nicer bottle, is the exact kind of thing I would demand to have put in.
