Gunwild: So uh, what's doing a spread like, anyway? There's sure a lotta stuff...

Psu: Gunwild likes putting HTML links in his scripts. I think this was the record. Maybe instead of actually discussing the craft on this page. Which itself was pretty wild. Why don't we discuss every single silly element we had snuck in here?

Gunwild: I used to be too into  forcing Psu to use shoved-in sci-fi references to populate panels. I'm sure we can't even explain all the ones here right now, as many were worked in on the fly... I mean yeah there's Question Duck and Minmay and a pretty lovely Farseer Taldeer from Warhammer 40,000. But there are some more obscure ones, too!

Psu: Some very obscure ones. Since this is behind the scenes, I don't mind breaking the world a little bit. But eagle eyed viewers might spot Minx, who we hadn't decided to include in this comic yet. While it's not impossible that she was just there in her down time, without her cat ears, that's definitely supposed to be her by the escalator. Anyway, I don't mind references all that much except it can take away from the universe a bit. But the fun here is imagining all the other colorful lives that you pass by at any given moment. Everyone else is the main character in their own world.

Gunwild: I especially wanna point out everyone's least-favorite Star Trek character, the Outrageous Okona, being apprehended by security in the lower center. Throw the book at him!

Psu: Man, I completely forgot about that one. I think my two favorite gags on this page though, are a couple of the original ones. The Vanaa with the human puppet act entertains me to no end. As well as the banner with the 100% recycled steak. Recycled food product is probably important on some planets. And you can build a cuisine around it, if you tried hard enough.

Gunwild: A s02da ad on the far left, as well.

Psu: Man those guys are everywhere. I think that might be the first or second appearance of So2da's actual sun mascot. Anyway, gosh, who's that couple at the table just below the Soda banner. They look kinda familiar...

Gunwild: We've mentioned how Star Crash prompted us to start working on this comic elsewhere. But there's another inspiration for Cassiopeia visible on the far right - wearing his kilt, and running at the first sign of trouble, is Lazarus Long. He's stayed alive for longer than any other human by doing his best to keep out of life-or-death trouble. Not exactly like Cassiopeia in that regard, but they have a similar outlook on taking responsibility for stuff.... "Take the money and run!"

Psu: I don't even remember what that's from!

Gunwild: Time Enough for Love, by Heinlein. Science Fiction is cool.

I think I see the Vanaa/Human bounty-hunter pair sitting by the railing.
