Gunwild: If you win at the tables, always tip your dealer.

Psu: I think we discussed for a long time, how to setup the idea that Cassiopeia setup the entire table itself. Like... I think stories and readers have a sort of “agreement” that there’s a give and take between what people will believe and won’t believe. And I hope we fell on the right side with people believing Cassiopeia shipped a transforming Casino Table here.

Gunwild: Mhm. I think it came out great. Only thing I would do differently now is make the floating cat table go REOWWW.

Psu: Oh yeah, in retrospect you were right. That was a case where adding the sound effect would have added a lot to the moment.

Gunwild: Well, that's an easy thing to go either way on. I also wish I'd had Cassiopeia say "This one's got better... legs?" because actually gaming tables need their surfaces replaced fairly often. I definitely wrote this before I made friends with someone with a casino job.

Psu: Heh, well I remember we had like... or at least I had this really crazy proposal to say that we introduce the table as it’s own kinda “alien” machine life form that could change shape. Ya know... like one of those famous machines. The Go Bots?

Gunwild: Don't you mean the Monstroids from the He-Man and She-Ra Christmas Special? "They're changing into other forms! What evil robots."

Psu: Heh. Well rejecting it was probably a good idea. I tend to toss a lot of “ideas” at Gunwild’s way and just expecting them all to work because they’re good in my head. I just need Gunwild to put them in a script! But sometimes they’re not great ideas. And then we talk them through. And that’s how we sometimes get to our happy place where we agree on some ideas and how they make sense for our story.

Gunwild: Honestly, I wish I was less self-conscious about my own ideas and shared more of them... but that's a discussion for another commentary!

Psu: I just throw them at a wall irresponsibly. Sometimes we get good stuff out of that! Not quite sure WHEN we came up with the transforming table though, but it worked out. Also we got to have Cassiopeia in shorts, so this is probably one of the nicer pages in the entire comic.
