Page Commentary No. 64

GUNWILD: Saw an article online about how Griffith University did a study and found the primary characteristics of physical attractiveness in a man, according to women, are how physically strong he looks, height, and leanness. I think if you add a talent to that it's not hard to see why Dr. Botz would bite her lip here.

PSU: Well I think confidence is one of Zeke's big traits. It's a different sort of confidence than what Peia has but it's present none the less. Anyway I'm really happy with how his abs came out in panel 4. But I'm also pretty happy that the gun spinning actually reads okay.

PSU: For the record, I didn't have a specific model of gun in mind for Zeke's pistol. As it stands he doesn't really HAVE a specific pistol except to have a revolver of some sort. And the revolvers I usually draw reference from are the fictional weapon The Last Word from Destiny and a Mateba. I like them more for their shape and the way the barrel is in the middle of the gun rather than along the top.

PSU: The robot at the top panel is a Dalek.

GUNWILD: I think this isn't a setting where people romanticize their weapons that much unless there's something particularly special about them - even though Maddy's lost two captain's swords, symbols of her authority, we've never shown her being particularly sad about them. Only that unusual one she got in the tourney sticks out. Which we'll get back to... ohohoo. Yes we will.

PSU: It's significant but it doesn't define her. Cassiopeia has weapons but to her they're more like gadgets. The only character that has a romantic affair with her weapons is Theira but she often is happy enough getting a new piece of hardware to match her ever changing self.

GUNWILD: And Cassiopeia's favorite weapon is probably still her magnetic harpoon, because it's got the power to take her exciting places, and also steal things - as we see in this story. But more on that next time.

PSU: There isn't a lot of acting on this page but I really like the waitress just sidling away in panel one. Zeke does leave a tip as he gets up which is nice. I kinda forgot I drew all that.

GUNWILD: Yeah, sidling waitress appears again in this short, we'll call her out again when we get to her.
