Gunwild: One thing we used to see in sci-fi stuff a lot is people kind of "swimming" to navigate in zero gravity. I'm glad that's mostly gone now.
Psu: This is a ridiculous page. I think I remember reading the script and thinking, this is a ridiculous page.
Gunwild: Well, yeah, but that doesn't mean it's BAD...
Psu: There's a world on fire in the background, with a horizon looking out into space. A bunch of the characters have turned into basketballs. And there are four Maddies in two panels. It's a bit nutso. I can't believe it works.
Gunwild: Skwidj is a little purpler than he maybe should be, but he's in front of the burning planet so that's our excuse for him not being fully blue.
Psu: Yeah, he's usually the most affected by the color of light around him. I feel like it's worth noting, this is one of the most extreme uses of angled panels in the whole comic. We don't do them so much anymore but it made sence here as it added to the feeling of tumbling around. You mgiht not toice it at first but you can see that the whole ship is spinning because the planet shifts where it is outside the window. And there are a couple ways to tell which side of the bridge's 360 viewport is the "floor." A lot of those details will probably fall by the wayside but thankfully the dialogs help pull the reader along with what's happening.
Gunwild: Ison adjusting her skirt for modesty's sake is so manga-ish I'm sure I put it in the script.
Psu: You also put in the script, "ROUNDNESS! It will be our UNDOING!"
I don't think I'd be wrong in saying that this second chapter is where we really won a lot of loyatly from our fans.
Gunwild: You can see in the comments that people who are not onboard for the main plot are still big Vanaa fans for how they look and talk.
Psu: Okay so we obviously need to do a couple more things. One, make more adoreable alien races. And two, make them heroes.
Gunwild: Doggos vs. Vanaa vs. Mer-Maidens
Psu: Every single one of them coming to a merch store near you. In the... uh... future? Sometime? Alternate universe future?
Gunwild: Whenever you actually have time to do extra art for merchandise purposes!
Psu: I'm going to ask gunwild right now to just insert a picture of a blue squishy gel ball with googly eyes put on it. But knowing how Patreon works, I know you can't really insert a picture into the body of the text so let's just let you guys imagine that right now and then we added a 10 dollar markup because of the all important Cassiopeia Quinn branding.
