200th Update Spectacular
Added 2017-07-16 19:16:07 +0000 UTCSo, behind-the-scenes thing here, the comic that got me seriously into reading and collecting comics was Ultimate Spider-Man back in about the year 2001. Eventually that series hit 100 issues (all of them excellent), and the writer, Brian Michael Bendis, decided that a good way to celebrate that milestone would be a story about Peter Parker having a birthday.
The idea he then had was that he'd do another birthday every 100 issues. that didn't pan out, but it did stick with me that hitting a milestone in a story could be fun to mark that way. So, for 100 updates we had a birthday for Maddy, and now here we are at one for Cassiopeia. Whose birthday will it be at #300?
I'd be lying if I said we'd already decided for sure... but you might be surprised by the ideas we've had about that.
