Arlocast 10/1/19

Hey! It's an Arlocast! Enjoy!

Comments

I know this is a super old Arlocast, and you're probably not still considering moving to Nashville, but I definitely recommend the area! Lots of good places to live surrounding Nashville and lots of good people too!

Steaks are my favorite food.

Fantastic arlo cast! My first one, too! Can’t WAIT for your Luigis Mansion 3 review!!

Some Game Critic

Eat some metrics Arlo - Listened to it all and enjoyed, even the "boring" or ranty stuff. Idiots who harass you for habeing MILD OPINIONS are internet idiots, no one is more pleasant, positive and transparent about opinions than you. As for video numbers I'd be fully pleased with just one per week, let alone 10 in one month! Love and fandom from outback Australia where it is also hot and dry!

Wood Duck

Awesome podcast, what about Arlopalooza 2019, and A HAT IN TIME review?

A good steak is a ....well it's a good steak! Also. I listened to the whole thing and I love when you tak about whatever it is you want to talk about in Arlocasts! I find it very entertaining.

Come check out the Pacific NW unless you hate rain a lot. Not too hot, lots of environments within a couple hours, and not too tough to go visit any friends or family you leave behind in NorCal. :)

Arlo. I did want to mention as well since you were talking about food in this Arlocast." If you want a very good burger, it has to have alot of Breath and some Wild in it!. ".

I did indeed enjoy all of it :)

I thought this arlocast was pretty awesome.I Enjoyed every moment!. On the moving topic. I dont really like moving much myself!. It can be annoying and It can be alot of work to move from one place to another as many know. But can be worth it if you find a really nice place.

I listened to the entire Arlo cast while leveling up in a video game:) I live in the Charlotte area of the Carolinas and I really love it. Nashville Tennessee is probably similar enough to have many of the same things I love about where I live. I think if you move over to the east coast that would be really fun!

Loved the new segments Arlo! Great podcast and thanks for getting real with us

Thanks, I'll definitely look into Murfreesboro!

Arlo

HEY! Nice to see ya! Thanks for listening!

Arlo

I don't live in Nashville but I did grow up a couple hours away from there and I have family in Nashville and the surrounding area. I've done research into moving into the area myself (I currently live in Arizona's armpit). It is a great area, especially for raising kids. Lots of great stuff for kids. The cost of living in Nashville is very low for a major city, and if you live in one of the surrounding suburban cities it's even lower. I recommend researching Murfreesboro if you want less traffic in your day-to-day. Murfreesboro is about 35-45 minutes southeastish of Nashville proper. And I listened to the whole podcast. I love these things. Just the right length for my commute.

That sure was a nice listen! I haven’t been on Patreon in a couple months for financial reasons - it’s a tale as old as time. But darn if this wasn’t a flood of good times! I’m glad the trip was nice; and it sounds like we are in for a fine quarter of YouTube good times! I hope you get a chance to play the fun games you’re hoping to!

I totally understood you not liking the Direct, and I never saw it as you asserting that your opinion was the only valid one, but the one thing I want you to understand is the significance of the Xenoblade announcement. To a lot of people, me included, this is our Thousand Year Door remake that we dreamed about and hoped and wished for, and figured it just wouldn't happen. But...it did!

I'm glad you had fun! I sure as heck know I did!

Arlo

Crazy guy here! Had an AMAZING time at the meetup--got to hang out in Oxford with college friends afterwards, so don’t worry about whether it was "worth it" or whatever. I love spontaneous road trips! I saw a lot of those twitter threads, and yeah, people online are VERY quick to jump to conclusions about certain people. Many just want to feel like they’re better than others, so they paint others in a negative light so that they can feel righteous by comparison. I learned a long time ago that it’s so much easier to not only give others the benefit of the doubt whenever appropriate, but also try to lift people up instead of pushing them down so you can feel tall...anyway, enough rambling. Great Arlocast!! Also you should play Dragon Quest XI!! Love ya!

Cole Durrett

Happy to say that I listened to the very end. That marinade sounds tasty, and I personally can't wait for your super-secret project to be revealed! Here's hoping that you'll get the time to work on that and the Pikmin review in the next year or so.

I haven't heard of them but I'll certainly be looking them up! Thanks! Here's hoping Sound of Ceres 3 doesn't take them too long to make, I can't waaaait!

Arlo

That is so cool that you listen to Sound of Ceres and Candy Claws!!!! Ceres and Calypso in the Deep Space Time is one of my favorite albums of all time. I love Grouper too!! I've been listening to her a bunch lately. Do you listen to Stereolab or Sweet Trip? Those seem like groups you would listen to based off of those.

Ooh, I'll look into them! Thanks!

Arlo

Arlo, you and me like the same music!! If you are looking for some more atmospheric music like grouper and sigur ross, 'Julia Holter' is really good and so is 'the radio dept.'

1. I am very excited about the retro studios video - been waiting 27 bajillion years for it. 2. I love you, you make YouTube 28 bajillion times better. I also agree with everything you have ever said since the beginning of time, so keep up the amazing work :)

Matt W

Thank you so much for coming, I had such a good time!!!

Arlo

I don't live in Nashville but I do live in Tennessee and drove down to see you in Nashville real early in the morning and it was great fun! I definitely think it would be super cool if you moved down here and I'm totally not biased at all lol. It is nice to live in a place that does have 4 very distinct seasons (most of the time).

@Arlo that marinade sounds a lot like the one I make, you should try adding a little bit of white wine to that, it adds a little tangy flavor to the steak

Great Arlo cast, as always! I listen to the very end. everything you do is great! Even if I don't agree with your opinions. which so far I have on basically everything.

BRANDON KEMP

Yup, I felt the exact same way after the last direct, so I'm sorry to hear you got some flak for saying it. It's certainly why I would struggle doing the whole social media thing with everyone breathing down your neck.

I also thought that last direct was just alright. Nothing super exciting, don't get too down on Twitter people making assumptions about you. Twitter is generally pretty awful.

waywardlaser

Sorry to hear that you get so much uncalled flak for your videos. Some people online just take satisfaction in being nasty. Please don't let it stop you doing what you enjoy as many enjoy your positive outlook and videos.

Ultimadrago

Don't feel too bad Arlo; I actually totally felt the same way when I saw the direct. It just felt like a huge re-tread of E3 with very few announcements. If anything, we've received very little new announcements lately, so I think we're entitled to feeling at least a LITTLE disappointed. Don't let those people get to you, Arlo - you're great!!!! Those haters don't realize just how much of a positive force you are out there!! In fact, let me just say - you are EVERYTHING that's great about the Nintendo Youtuber community. You, good sir, are fantastic. You OWN the Nintendo corner on Youtube. :3

Also, while I did disagree with your opinions on the Direct SLIGHTLY (I'd probably give it a 7 out of 10; good, a bit more then okay. I really liked a couple of the announcements) the reaction to your stuff was just way too harsh and the Twitter stuff just sounds nasty, kinda like cyber bullying to be honest. Can some super hacker just go into their mainframe and just shut it down for the sake of people's mental health? The reactionary nature of it and the way it allows people to hurl abuse at each other, YouTubers and fluffy blue puppets in the heat of the moment is just awful. It just makes Twitter feel kinda gross to be on and to use, hence why I'm kinda just not using it atm. I might even straight up delete my account soon. Anyways, sorry! That rant out of the way, good Arlocast as always man. Keep doing what you're doing. Try not to let the haters get you down. :)

Gentleman Gamer

I would love to watch a Majora's Mask vs. Twilight Princess Spooktober head-to-head! That would be so much fun, and these are definitely two of my favorites in the series. :)

Gentleman Gamer

Ceres is a dwarf planet in the asteroid belt (between Mars and Jupiter) and is names for the Roman Goddess of Agriculture and Grain and is the mother of Persephone

Avi Erdfarb

Id be the guy that flies over to the usa and drives to that park just to see arlo for 10 minutes. I like in the arlo casts where you just talk about life and whats been happening and your favourite foods and songs and all that we dont get to hear it very often on the channel.

Mitchell Earl

So will we get to hear, "Claussen Pickles? Yes please!" in a video one day? Just a thought.

Sean Jackson

Sweet!

Hugo Kalm

I enjoyed the arlocast and watched it all the way through if you could do one monthly that would be nice!
