First Update Blog o' the YEAR!!!

Hey hey hey! The holiday season is finally over and I'm here with the scoop on what's going down on ArloStuff over the next month or so. I guess I don't really have much to preface any of this with...so let's get to it!

First off, there will quite predictably be plenty of content coming if we end up getting a Nintendo Direct this month. It seems pretty likely that news will drop any second now, but hey, you never know. Maybe we just won't! If we do though, you can bet I'll be doing a commentary track and also a full discussion. If we're very lucky it will contain something juicy enough to do an entire additional video on. So that's likely two or three videos right there.

Then as far as planned content goes, the next scripted video will be one talking about Nintendo's new Youtube policies and how they ditched the Creators Program. It's a nice uplifting piece I think, talking about how it's a really good sign for Nintendo. It's in its final revision phase now, so unless the Direct drops in the next day or two expect it soon. I'll be giving it to $10+ folks the moment it's done.

After that I've got a video talking about if Kirby: Star Allies' free DLC has added significant value to the game, and mostly how I feel about the idea of releasing a game that's very light on content and "finishing" it later.

Then I've got a video exploring the confusing absence of Pikmin 4. I look into all of Nintendo/Miyamoto's quotes about the game and try to determine why it's taking so long to release. This is a fun one, because despite my love of Pikmin I've gotten very few chances to actually talk about it at length. This isn't really about the games themselves per se... But it will still be fun!

Those have all been written and are ready to be shot, but I've also got a sizable list of videos I want to do in the very near future. I've always got a long list of ideas, but these are the ones that will probably happen soon, maybe in February:

A video exploring what characters could potentially come to Smash through its DLC. But not like wishes or predictions or anything like that; I'll actually talk about likelihood and whatnot, with the ultimate point being that Nintendo can do whatever they want. I see so many people going on and on about how such and such character is just completely impossible, so I think it's time to look at the whole concept.

Then I want to do a followup to my previous video on Switch hardware problems. In the last two years many problems have surfaced with the little system and its controllers, so I think it's time to open the case again. There will be a call-to-action for Nintendo to improve their hardware or start offering better warranties, because it's really turning into an issue.

Then there's the followup to my Switch Online video. Similarly, I'll be calling Nintendo out to fix the service. It was bad enough before Smash, but now that Nintendo's premier multiplayer game doesn't even function well online, charging is just not cool.

Then I would just like to make a video on the whole idea of a Switch Pro and/or Mini. I've had opinions on this for so long now that it's time to finally turn them into a video exploring the idea completely.

So that's that! Not much other news to go over that I didn't cover in other recent blogs or that public Arlocast from a few days ago. You might notice that I changed my total pledge amount from public to private. I originally went private, then changed it back to public for the sake of transparency, but now I've seen so many people making theirs private that I guess I just want to try it again and see if it has any effect on the total. I dunno, I flip flop back and forth on things like that so who knows, maybe I'll end up changing my mind again later this year, haha.
