Arlocast 4/21/18

Arlo, have you ever given any thought to live-streaming? It could be your spiritual successor to Arlo Plays, and would be a perfect way to fulfill your idea of playing through a bunch of games in a series.

Arlo. Arloooooooooo. I really recommend God of War. There's so many secrets, chests, sidequests, puzzles...it really opens up at a certain point and exploration is so satisfying to me. I just rolled credits on it and still have a lot to go through and find. It looks amazing on my original model PS4, I'm sure it'd be a killer on the Pro. If you come to Momocon, then I'm 100% going next year. It's been a con that I always been on the fence about, it's just kind of an investment and I dunno if it'd be for me, but I live in Atlanta anyway, and the chance of meeting you would absolutely sell me on it!

I understand your point about Japanese devs and Metroid but while Retro's story beats were more appealing to westerners like us, I'd rather see the game thrive in controls and map design. Retro's focus on lore led to scanning and a slower gameplay pace. Maybe a Japanese dev will better focus on Metroid's traditional strengths.

Year, the first half of the year wasn't great. Specially if you are one of the view Wii owner. But the second year is very promising imho. We Still (hopefully) will get: Yoshi, Octopath Traveler, Fire Emblem; Smash that's one great game every 1.5 Month plus some smaller treats like Mario Tennis or the Mario + Rabbits DLC. And I still hope/belief that Nintendo will announce a big Christmas Titel. Sure Smash would be big enough for the Christmas marked, but they need Smash to lunch the online service which is announced for September.

I think going through the Mario series and Zelda series sounds awesome! Also, once the Breath of the Wild review is done, it’d be really cool if you put some of that extra time into finishing Wind Waker on Arlo Plays. Maybe Arlo Plays still wouldn’t take off, but it’d be nice to see the series finish. Who knows, a video on the main channel announcing that you were trying Arlo Plays again might drum up some interest. I look forward to whatever you try (especially since a book sounds amazing).

I'd definitely come to fan meet-ups if I could, but you're out in California and I live in Toronto.

Picked up LABO variety kit and God of War, fun weekend! I've built everything except the Piano, which I'll do tomorrow. LABO is a lot of fun but I knew it would appeal to me. The RC Car is more of a two person thing and the House is pretty tame, more of a simple virtual pet. The Fishing Rod and Bike are great fun though. This is better than Wii Sports ever was in my opinion. I love building them. I had to add that I actually like the Japanese sensibilities in games despite being from Canada. I typically prefer (BUT NOT ALWAYS) Japanese game design. I would love to see series playthroughs. I have done a couple before but never made videos about it.

Hah, I've seen Stranger Things (and loved it) but I haven't looked into Dark yet (even though I'm German) simply because I haven't heard anything positive about it. Guess now I don't have an excuse anymore. Looking forward to hearing some more on that last project you mentioned. If available digitally I'd definitely get that.

God of War does look really good. Fortunately for me I don't have a PS4, so I'm safe from the allure. Also, no you should not stop. Blab away! These are really good for listening to while I do low-energy work things, I really do enjoy them!

I feel like if you wanna do something with Labo, keep in mind it takes about 5 or so hours to build all 5 sets. So it will take up a huge chunk of your time just building it.
