I-LAND - Episode 5

I-LAND - Episode 5

I felt like Rain and Nico really helped grounders and motivated them to rally and fight to the end. Especially my cuties Sunoo and Ni-Ki. They are both so strong to have come out of this show and Ground is where their friendship started. Since so many of those grounders debuted! I can’t help but think it was a pivotal life moment.

Also, one amazing fact was that Ni-ki was sleep just before he danced. One other fact that it all happened on Sunoo’s birthday.

Finally. Marco, as much as I hate to say this, this is an MNet show. Have to watch it knowing they are manipulating you constantly lol. At this point as global didn’t know who would be in ground, you’re voting out of all 23 contestants. The montage is a bit of a manipulation to highlight certain people potentially. And showing Seon? 100% voter manipulation. It’s a “we eliminated this guy because we had to pick 3, but also, we aren’t sure we want him out of the 2nd half. So we are going to show you he is 100% one of the grounders in the hopes you will vote for him to stay”. Did it work? We’ll find out in Episode 7 🙂.

Ni-Ki. I love Rain. He knew Ni-Ki was feeling defeated after giving everything the test prior. He also saw something special in Ni-Ki. That speech was a, “Ni-Ki, I refuse to let you wallow when you were created for greatness”. Yes, the speech was for everyone and indeed almost all have debuted at some time “whether 10 yrs, 20 yrs it doesn’t matter. If you believe and love yourself you will eventually succeed”. But ending, “and Ni-Ki will help you” was so intentional beyond just one test. He wasn’t going to let Ni-Ki settle with less than the greatness he knew Ni-Ki possessed.

For your point on them not feeling defeated. I get what you mean, but I think the reason Ni-Ki and Nicholas were crying is BECAUSE they believed and gave everything for the dance battle and still lost. They weren’t feeling lacking prior. They fully believed they could beat I-Land and competed with that mindset. And that’s why it hurt more. It didn’t hurt because they had the mentality they were inferior, they hurt because they fully believed they were NOT inferior, and then lost. I’m so glad Rain and Zico came in and encouraged them. They needed that.

Ok. I’ll just make multiple posts on all my thoughts. First- ground dance unit. I didn’t post last episode because this issue ties together and I needed you to get to this one lol. I have major issues with the attempt to mask the producers mess up. Ni-Ki said Jaeho didn’t match the chemistry and Hanbin would be better. Hanbin had mere hours of practice at midpoint and producers were like “you don’t know what you’re doing Hanbin. I really think you all should reconsider”. So they change it back to Jaeho (who had almost all the practice at that point). The number one issue they had with the dance ground unit was that Jaeho didn’t match the other two. But “he only came in half way so he didn’t get his share of practice”. Bro lost like 2 hrs of practices. Y’all just don’t want to admit you gave bad direction and Ni-Ki knows what he’s doing with dance and if he thinks the chemistry with Jaeho is lacking, then it’s lacking! Grrr 😬.

So much courage from Ni-Ki, and the thing is he knows the risks, he feels the weight of his decisions...how they will impact him and others. At the end of the day he has to trust his gut.

I appreciate you watching Beth! I'm having a blast with it 🤗

Ni-ki is the second youngest, fourteen, and it amazes me that no one else could step up. There was so much pressure on him that he was never treated like his age, like Ta-ki on the show.

I am enjoying watching this with you and I am glad that no one spoiled it for you so far. Can't wait for part 2!
