Big Sketchdump!
Added 2021-06-22 11:09:54 +0000 UTCI've been keeping up with sketching on my iPad when I can! Because of this, something quite dangerous has happened to me.... For many years now, my favourite part of drawing has been inking. I love making neat lineart, there's something so satisfying about it to me. I've always hated my sketches because they're so messy and not the neat lines that I want to make.... But now, I'm finding that I actually kind of like my sketches, and I kind of prefer them to my inked drawings.... uh oh!!!
I think I really need to re-evaluate how I draw, just like, in general. I really desperately want to get looser and more expressive with my inking and I feel like my sketches are really tapping into something that my current approach to lineart just can't hit on. Maybe that doesn't really make sense haha but I dunno... I feel like through doing these sketches, I'm evolving a little as an artist which is good because I feel like I've been kind of stagnating for a while.
Anyway! Hopefully you all know that these angsty girls are Daisy and Lamb by now :> I really am itching to work on their story....... so much has changed since I last spoke about it. I really want to start working on this as a fully fledged graphic novel by the end of this year. I'm so excited to be done with the Sensory Anthology and then I can start working on this properly!!!

These really do look very good indeed, goodness me I totally get what you mean with the sketches vs the lineart. Though I'm not an artist, when I do draw, I really appreciate the vision that exists within the sketch stage that seems to be dissolved when you ink it. I seem to see it in other people's art as well, I feel like there's much more of a kind of raw intent behind the drawing when it comes to the sketeches. I like the think it's because your brain's able to fill in a lot of the stuff that would normally be done in the inking stage, but I can't say for sure It would be *very cool* to see a graphic novel from you with these peeps, it would be amazing to see what kind of story they have, and the stuff that all comes from that very nice!
