Life Drawing - 1 minute poses
Added 2020-12-09 23:03:02 +0000 UTCI've been thinking a lot lately about how I need to study more and re-evaluate my relationship with my art. I miss doing studies for the sheer joy of learning, even if they aren't very good!
I was clearing up my bookmarks this evening as part of an effort to organise my life and lift myself out of chaos haha and I found the link for line-of-action.com and I just thought, screw it let's do some life drawing this evening!!!
Anyway here are all the 1 minute poses I did! I think they came out OK? I wish my line quality was better aaaa but that's something I've always struggled with when it comes to fast drawing.
I love 1 minute poses because you're focusing more on the general gesture and the impression of the figure rather than getting bogged down by anatomy. When I was in artschool, our life drawing classes mostly consisted of 30+ minute poses and it was super frustrating. I'm of the opinion that lots of looser, rougher drawings are more beneficial to learning than doing long studies haha
One of the sad things for me about Covid is that I'd *just* started going to in-person life drawing again right before things got really bad here. Hopefully I'll be able to still have the courage to go once things get less dangerous.
Anyway I'm going to try and make this like, a regular thing that I do to unwind or warm up. Hopefully I'll be able to show some improvement if I keep at it!

Dang, you've got mad skills. One day, I want to be able to do that like how you're able to with the quickness and relative accuracy. Just got to keep at it!
