I just wanted to apologise for the lack of comics this week! I experienced a sudden wave of depression after almost losing my dog and I haven't really been doing much beyond staring at the wall and playing Animal Crossing
To go into a little more detail, my 17 year old dog, Floss, went in for high-risk life saving surgery at the start of the week and we didn't know if she was going to make it. She has since survived the surgery but things aren't looking great and she's very unstable right now. I'm trying to not think of the worst case scenario but it has been affecting me in a big way.
I have a rather unfortunate habit of spiralling when something bad happens, so dog stress combined with weird pandemic stress kind of bled into a lot of aspects of my life and just made me pretty miserable for the week and affected my ability to make things.
With that said, I'm feeling a lot better after just letting myself have some time off to process my emotions and the current situation. Thank you for being patient and I'll be back to making comics like always in the coming week.
I'm really excited to finish off the Staying Afloat miniseries! It'll be nice to go back to making strips again - I have a lot of ideas!
