Version 0.5 Karl's motivation

In the new version, a big focus of influence is made on Karl. I'd like to expand on this character a bit for a better understanding of what's going on.

Adam, Lisa and Karl work for the same firm. Adam is the head of Department A, Karl is an employee of Department B, and Lisa is a coordinator between all departments of the firm.

Adam also started out as a regular employee, but thanks to hard work, he was able to rise to the head of the department. Adam is a careerist. In other ways, so is Karl, but Karl is less successful in this matter.

For Adam, friendship with Karl is a job, he does not consider anyone his friend at all, but at best a partner or task. Karl is just a way for him to conduct intelligence in the most successful competitive department of their firm.

What is Karl's motivation? It's the same. He understands perfectly well that Adam needs information and Karl gives it exactly as much as he sees fit, while also learning what is useful for himself. A symbiosis of schemers and manipulators in any firm. The snake's nest.

Last quarter, Adam, with Lisa's help, forged a report on the progress of his department, although Karl's team should have shown the best result. As a result, Adam got this promotion with a business trip precisely because of this scam.

Carl understands that something is wrong here and understands that Adam probably cheated, but he doesn't understand where exactly and has no proof. It is getting this information and proofs that is the main motivation of Karl at the moment.

Also, Lisa is clearly cute to Karl, he looks at her in the office, takes pictures and flirts. Adam understands this and tries to turn it against Karl by sending Lisa to a meeting at the bar to get some information from Karl.

But whether Adam succeeds or not depends only on the player. Everything is in your hands in version 0.5
